KCA are excited to officially announce that we have received a $98k research grant from the Professional Standards Council to identify the skills and qualities required to successfully put research to use via commercialisation. We have commenced the early stages of the project in conjunction with our research partner gemaker, but hope to make the next phase interactive and collaborative with the member base. Just to give you a heads up, we will be running state based workshops from late May, and would we very much appreciate your participation so that we can gain your input as to what skills are really needed to undertake our unique role, and what skills you predict will be required going forwards.
The reason we need your input is that one of the major outcomes we hope to achieve is the development of a framework outlining the skills and competencies necessary to facilitate the exchange of knowledge. This framework will be used as a baseline tool to guide the future professional development of practitioners. We would also like to use your input to begin to map out a much needed, more clearly defined career pathway for early career technology transfer professionals.
We will be releasing more information about the aforementioned workshops shortly, and will let you know how to get involved. In the meantime, we just wanted to share the press release which will be distributed via our networks this afternoon and over the weekend, so you are in the loop as to the progress of this project. Feel free to share this within your own networks also.
