Knowledge Commercialisation Australasia (KCA) welcomes Shane Killcullen as the new KCA VIC Network Chair.
After more than 2 years at the helm, Quin Chang has stepped down as the current KCA VIC Network Chair to focus on a broadened portfolio of responsibility on KCA’s Board. KCA would like to thank Quin for his service and dedication to the role.
Shane has a broad range of experience from his career specialising in engineering, intellectual property and now commercialisation. This background has given him personal insight into how much effort it takes to get a good idea from the concept stage to the market.

Shane is considered to be somewhat of an all-rounder from a technical perspective. He has worked in technical fields such as power generation, MedTech, advanced manufacturing, mining and many areas in between.
The part of the commercialisation that Shane enjoys the most is working directly with the researchers. He gets the most satisfaction from bringing research and industry together to ensure that cutting edge research gets used in the most effective way.
As part of his new role as the KCA VIC Network Chair, Shane is keen to further enhance an already vibrant commercialisation community in Victoria and give a voice to all of the universities, policy makers and industry collaborators in the region.
Shane has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and a Masters of Engineering Science from University College Dublin. He also has a Masters of Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Swinburne University. His current role is Senior Commercialisation Associate at Monash University.
